Job Description: 
We are seeking an Operations Associate to join a tight-knit team supporting our laboratory, office, and financial operations. This role reports to the Operations Director and supports procure-to-pay best practices, inventory and equipment management, helping to keep the lab running smoothly day-to-day. We're looking for someone detail-oriented and organized, comfortable working independently, and equally effective as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, on-site position in Boulder, CO. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Manage the purchasing process end-to-end: submit and review purchase requests, purchase lab supplies, receive deliveries, and confirm receipt. 
  • Assist in invoice collection, processing, and payment.  
  • Manage laboratory inventory and stock levels to increase efficiency of research operations. 
  • Assist technical team with sourcing and price scouting for chemicals and small equipment. 
  • Maintain lab equipment and infrastructure by tracking service, calibration, recertification, and maintenance schedules. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety committee guidelines, including hazardous waste and chemical hygiene oversight. 
  • Proactively advocate for improved lab safety, cleanliness and organization. 
  • Manage document workflows, including signature routing and recordkeeping. 

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field preferred, with 2+ years of experience in laboratory operations, inventory management, or a related technical environment. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize independently under competing demands. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general business software. 
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds. 

Nice to Have: 
  • Experience with procurement and purchasing systems. 
  • Experience with environmental health and safety (EH&S). 
  • Experience in a biotech startup.
